Comfort Will Keep You Stuck
May 11, 2026
I may ruffle some feathers today, but here we go!
Sometimes the reason people don’t change is because everyone around them looks, thinks, struggles, and copes the same way they do.
So nothing feels urgent.
Everybody’s tired.
Everybody’s overweight.
Everybody’s inflamed.
Everybody’s “trying.”
And secretly?
Nobody feels good.
But because the discomfort became normal…nobody questions it anymore.
Comfortability Is Sneaky
Because comfortability don’t always feel comfortable.
Sometimes it feels like:
• settling
• coping together
• laughing pain off
• normalizing exhaustion
• bonding over struggle
“You good?”
“Girl, I’m tired too.”
“We all trying to lose weight.”
“That’s just part of getting older.”
And little by little…people stop expecting better for themselves.
The Dangerous Part?
You start choosing environments that protect the pattern instead of challenging it.
Even in wellness. Actually, especially in wellness.
Sometimes people don’t want transformation.
They want comfort.
So they’ll choose:
A coach that is not in tip-top shape (this is not about shame or perfection..stay focused).
A group where everybody keeps restarting.
Advice that makes them feel safe… but never different.
Because if the teacher never changes…
neither do the students.
Read That Again
If the system keeps everyone comfortable…
why would anyone evolve?
Now listen.
Again, this ain’t about body shaming.
This is about alignment.
If someone is teaching healing…
but clearly isn’t applying the principles themselves…
you should at least pause and ask questions.
Not from judgment.
From awareness.
Because results leave clues.
Why People Stay Stuck Together
Growth can feel lonely at first.
Because the moment you start wanting different…you notice how committed people are to staying the same.
Not intentionally.
But psychologically.
Humans like familiarity.
Even unhealthy familiarity.
A group can normalize dysfunction so deeply that the healthiest person starts feeling “extreme.”
And That’s the Real Work
Not just changing food.
Changing what you accept as normal.
Changing what you clap for.
Changing what you surround yourself with.
Because environments shape behavior. Every. Single. Day.
Ask Yourself Honestly
Are the people around you helping you evolve...or helping you stay comfortable? Because there’s a difference...and your future can feel it.
Snack on THIS
Sometimes the hardest part of growth, is no longer finding comfort in what’s keeping everyone stuck.
