Alright, let’s get into it. I’m about to introduce you to a man whose name is buzzing around the holistic health scene like that good coconut water at Sprouts. Who’s this legend? Dr. Sebi.

But wait, let’s clear the air first—Dr. Sebi isn’t some trendy, one-and-done name-drop. He’s the man who dared to shake up the health industry and give the big wigs the side-eye, all while keeping it 100% natural. Yup, Dr. Sebi was ahead of his time, dropping knowledge bombs long, long, long before “plant-based” was a hashtag.

Dr. Sebi, born Alfredo Darrington Bowman, was a Honduran herbalist and healer who believed in one thing: your body can heal itself—if you give it the right tools. And by tools, I don’t mean your multi-vitamins from the drugstore or those 30-day juice cleanses you find on Instagram. Nah, Sebi was all about electric foods—foods that keep your body charged up and running like the energizer bunny.

What set Dr. Sebi apart was his no-nonsense approach. He didn’t believe in Western medicine’s quick-fix pills or surgeries. He believed in returning to the earth, to nature, and embracing alkaline foods to flush out the toxins that keep you sick and stuck. And the man didn’t just talk the talk—he walked it. Healing himself from conditions like asthma and diabetes, and about 20 other FTD's (Food Transmitted Dis-eases).  Sebi became living proof that his methodology worked. He wasn’t just talking; he was the blueprint.

But his most significant claim to fame? He stood toe-to-toe with the U.S. legal system—and won. When he was sued for claiming that he could cure diseases like AIDS, he had the receipts to back it up in court. The case? Dropped. Dr. Sebi? A legend forever.

Food Sensitivities

There are several intriguing cases where individuals discovered allergies or sensitivities to foods generally considered healthy, such as salmon, chicken, or vegetables…even foods from Dr. Sebi’s Nutritional Guide. One particularly interesting case involved a young woman who experienced persistent digestive issues and fatigue, despite adhering to a diet rich in vegetables, “lean proteins” like chicken and salmon, and whole grains. After undergoing a comprehensive food sensitivity test, she was surprised to learn that her body was reacting negatively to several of these "healthy" foods.

The Case of the Young Woman Allergic to "Healthy" Foods

Background:

A 28-year-old woman had been experiencing unexplained bloating, fatigue, and occasional skin rashes for several years.

She maintained a balanced diet, heavily focusing on vegetables, “lean proteins” like chicken and salmon, and avoiding processed foods.  Why do I put lean proteins in quotations?  Welp, first of all, meats are considered a level 1 or 2 carcinogen.  Second, the best proteins come from plants. Symptoms:

Chronic bloating and digestive discomfort.

Persistent fatigue despite adequate sleep and exercise.

Sporadic skin rashes without an obvious cause.

Testing and Diagnosis:

After conventional medical tests failed to pinpoint the issue, she decided to take a food sensitivity test.

The test revealed sensitivities to:

Chicken: Often praised for its lean protein content and low-fat profile.

Salmon: Known for its omega-3 fatty acids and heart-healthy benefits.

Spinach, Broccoli, Quinoa: Vegetables renowned for their nutrient density.

Let's talk fruit. There's a lot of confusion swirling around about whether it's a healthy choice. I'm here to break it down for you so you can make an informed decision.

First up, the sugar debate. Yes, fruit has sugar, but it's not the same as downing a soda. Fruit comes with fiber, antioxidants, and vitamin C, which help slow down sugar absorption. Still, if you're loading up on burgers and fries, your body might not handle fruit so well.

When it comes to timing, eating fruit on an empty stomach is your best bet. Mixing it with other foods can lead to a major tummy ache. And no one wants that.

So, here's the lowdown: enjoy your fruit, but be mindful. Opt for lower sugar options like berries, and try to eat them on their own. Your stomach will thank you.

And hey, I know this might sound complicated, but trust me, it's worth it. Say goodbye to bloating and hello to feeling awesome! 

To sum it all up:

-Eat alkaline-electric fruit on an empty stomach. 

-Allow your first meal to be alkaline-electric fruit.

-If you can fast until at least noon, that would be great!  

-Eat only seeded fruit, but not at the same time as eating the fruit. It causes bloating.

-Eat fruit about one hour (or longer) before a meal or two hours (or longer) after.

Eating Raw is boring?

So, I recently made a post about Raw Foods (since y’all still on ya “healthy kick”…eventho this is supposed to be a LIFEstyle, not a DIEt, but anyway) and y’all just went nuts! Lol.  I like that though!  Love the passion!  Let me clarify on this…

Eating raw can be from eating fruits and/or veggies the way they come AND you can also be HIGH Raw when you use a dehydrator.  I have many recipes for using a dehydrator with your foods so you can still get that “cooked” taste and feel but be even healthier because you’re not using any oils because, of course, you’re not cooking!  Pro tip: You can use alkaline veggie broth in placement of oil when you are cooking.  See page 32 in my Alkaline-Electric Holiday Comfort Classics Recipe eBook.  Ok, so back to it, eating high raw has even more amazing benefits than just eating and cooking alkaline-electric.  Have you ever seen anyone that does this everyday?  Their skin has an amazing glow, their hair is usually long, thick and shiny, their teeth are pearly white and so much more!  THIS is how you save money by eating alkaline-electric. You say you spend more on the foods (not really true..but I’ll touch on that another time), but look at the money you’ll save on not having to WASTE money on expensive creams (that don’t work), glasses (because the mucus from animal foods destroy your vision), hair products (that don’t work bc it’s all about what you put on the inside that keeps hair strong and healthy….umm, I could go on and on! 

I have a LOT of things I’m writing about at the moment but now I’m inspired to help you guys out on the high raw food lifestyle.  Sheesh!  Welp, I guess one at a time as many of you are looking to stay consistent on just eating more electric, cooking more at home (yay!), and what not.  So, I’ll come back to that but just know, it’s a thing!

If you don’t have a dehydrator, put your oven on the lowest temp, hopefully no higher than 170 degrees and have fun!  It does usually take 8-14 hours for the more “gourmet” meals however, it’s so worth it!  THIS helps you plan ahead, have food from the day before already prepped so you can just come home and dig in, releasing the temptations from stopping and “grabbing something real quick” etc.  When you prepare foods at 170 degrees and below, this is considered not cooking!
