Patterns Tell the Truth...in dating and in food!
May 18, 2026
I’ve noticed something over the years when it comes to dating.
People have patterns.
Especially men. 😂
When they call.
When they text.
What they talk about.
What they avoid.
How consistent they are.
What they suddenly stop doing.
Patterns.
And usually?
If you pay attention long enough… the pattern tells the truth before the person does.
Now listen…
This ain’t a “bash men” newsletter. Stay with me.
Because the same thing happens with food.
And honestly?
With life in general.
Patterns Reveal Priorities
When someone is genuinely interested, you don’t usually have to guess.
There’s rhythm. Consistency. Effort.
You learn their pattern.
So when that pattern suddenly changes...you notice. That might be when you think you're going "crazy"...or if you call them out on it, they wanna call you “cray-cray.”
Because humans are pattern-recognition beings.
We notice shifts.
Energy changes. Behavior changes. Communication changes.
And whether it’s a relationship or a situationship, when the pattern changes, it usually means something changed internally first.
Attention shifted. Priorities shifted. Energy shifted. SOMETHING moved.
Food Has Patterns Too
Your eating habits have patterns. Your cravings have patterns. Your emotional eating has patterns.
You may notice:
You always want something sweet at night.
You snack after stressful conversations.
You crave crunchy foods when irritated.
You “treat yourself” after hard days.
That’s not random...that’s rhythm.
And once a pattern repeats enough…the brain starts expecting it.
The Dangerous Part
Most people ignore patterns until the consequences get loud.
In relationships...In health...In habits.
We explain things away.
“Maybe I’m overthinking.”
“It’s just one bad week.”
“I’ll get back on track Monday.”
Meanwhile, the pattern keeps speaking.
The Body Pays Attention Too
Your body notices your patterns even when your mind tries to ignore them.
Lack of sleep. Stress eating. Constant sugar spikes. Skipping meals then overeating.
The body keeps score. Patterns become physiology.
Here’s the Good News
Patterns can be interrupted!
That’s what healing really is.
Not becoming perfect, but becoming aware enough to notice: “Wait… I always do this here.”
That pause? That awareness? That’s power! ...because you can’t change a pattern you refuse to acknowledge.
Ask Yourself Honestly
What patterns keep showing up in your life right now?
Not just with food...with people...with stress...with avoidance...with comfort...with yourself.
Because patterns don’t just reveal behavior. They reveal beliefs.
Snack on THIS
When someone — or something — breaks the pattern…pay attention.
The shift usually started long before the behavior changed.
