If Breakfast Is So Important...
June 22, 2026
...why Don't You Want It on Saturday?
Have you ever noticed something strange?
Monday through Friday...
you're starving by 7:30 AM.
But Saturday?
Suddenly you're fine.
No panic.
No emergency.
No rushing to find a bagel.
No grabbing breakfast on the way to work.
In fact, many people don't eat until noon.
And somehow...
they survive.
So what changed?
Let's THINK About This
Did your body suddenly stop needing food?
Or did your schedule stop demanding it?
During the week, many people wake up and immediately start thinking:
"I've got a long day."
"I better eat now."
"I won't have time later."
"I need energy."
So they eat.
And you know they ain't hungry.
But they are preparing.
There's a difference.
Then Saturday Arrives
No commute.
No meetings.
No school drop-off.
No boss.
No clock.
No pressure.
Suddenly, people relax.
They drink water.
They move around the house.
They take their time.
And many discover something surprising:
They weren't actually hungry at 7:30.
They were responding to stress.
To routine.
To anticipation.
To habit.
Ever Wonder Why Brunch Exists?
Restaurants have.
That's why brunch became an entire industry.
Because businesses noticed something:
People don't eat the same way when they're relaxed.
When the pressure comes off, eating patterns change.
People naturally delay food.
They socialize.
They linger.
They eat differently.
The Psychology Gets Interesting
For decades, we've been told:
"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day."
Most people never stop to ask:
Who told us that?
Why?
And what were they selling?
The food industry has always understood something powerful:
If they can shape your beliefs...
they can shape your behavior.
And if they can shape your behavior...
they can shape their profits.
This Is Why I Teach THINKing
Because I'm less interested in telling you WHAT to eat.
And more interested in helping you ask:
Am I hungry?
Or am I following a script?
Am I feeding my body?
Or feeding a habit?
Am I responding to a need?
Or responding to marketing?
Because those are very different things.
So, What Should You Eat?
That's not today's lesson.
Today's lesson is awareness.
The next time you wake up hungry on a Tuesday but not on a Saturday...
pause.
Get curious.
Ask yourself:
What's different?
The answer may have less to do with food...
and more to do with your thinking.
Snack on THIS 🧠
The food industry spends billions trying to influence your decisions.
The least we can do is slow down long enough to make our own.
Have you been practicing your alkalizing breaths? You may naturally do this on Saturday, but what about during the week or your busiest times of the week/year?
