Assume positive intent
March 30, 2026
Meaning… when someone says or does something, don’t immediately assume they’re trying to hurt you.
Pause. Get curious. Try to understand. Cool?
Now, this also means to flip that idea inward too...and assume positive intent about yourself!
Because Let’s Be Honest…
When it comes to food, habits, and starting over…most people are hard on themselves.
“I messed up.”
“I have no discipline.”
“Why do I keep doing this?”
But what if that late-night snack…that craving…that “falling off” moment…
Wasn’t you being weak?
What if it was your body trying to help you?
Your Patterns Have a Purpose
Every habit you have started somewhere.
Not randomly.
But for a reason.
Maybe:
You eat at night because it’s the only time you slow down.
You crave sugar because your body is looking for quick energy.
You snack when you’re stressed because it gives you a moment of relief.
That’s not failure.
That’s a strategy your brain learned.
The Problem Isn’t the Intention
The problem is that the strategy… no longer serves you.
But instead of updating the strategy…
Most people attack themselves.
And when you come at yourself with:
Frustration
Shame
Disappointment
Your brain doesn’t feel safe enough to change.
So it goes right back to what’s familiar.
What Changes Everything
Instead of saying:
“Why do I keep doing this?”
Try saying:
“What is my body trying to do for me right now?”
That question alone shifts everything.
You go from:
Judgment → Curiosity
Reaction → Awareness
Control → Understanding
And when you understand the pattern…
You can finally change the pattern.
Why This Matters for the Fast
As we prepare for this fast, this mindset is everything.
Because during the fast, things are going to come up:
Cravings
Emotions
Thoughts
Old habits
And if your first response is:
“I need more discipline…”
You’re going to fight yourself the entire time.
But if your response is:
“Let me understand what’s happening…”
Now you’re working with your body… not against it.
Snack on THIS 🧠
Before you judge your habits…
Assume positive intent.
Not for them.
For you.
If you’re ready to go through this fast with structure, support, and understanding…
We’re not just fasting. We’re learning how to respond to ourselves differently.
