January Had Goals. May Has Receipts.
May 04, 2026
As always, let's keep it real...
Back in January, you had a plan.
Maybe you said:
This is my year.
I’m getting serious this time.
I’m done starting over.
And for a little while…
you meant it.
Gym membership.
Meal prep.
Walking more.
More water.
Less sugar.
More discipline.
Less excuses.
And now…
it’s May.
So let me ask you:
What happened?
Not with judgment.
With curiosity.
Because this matters.
January Gives You Vision
January is full of hope.
Fresh starts.
Big energy.
Clear intentions.
That’s beautiful.
But intention is just the opening scene.
It’s not the whole movie.
May Reveals the Pattern
By May, the motivation has worn off.
Life got busy.
Stress happened.
Schedules shifted.
Old habits got louder.
And this is where the truth shows up.
Not your desire.
Your system.
Because when life gets real…
you don’t default to your goals.
You default to your patterns.
This Ain’t About Failure
If you’re not where you thought you’d be…
that doesn’t mean you failed.
It means something interrupted the system.
And that’s useful information.
Because now you know what needs attention.
Not punishment.
Attention.
Ask Yourself:
What did I start in January that I stopped?
What made me stop?
What pattern keeps repeating?
What do I keep telling myself?
What actually worked?
What keeps getting in the way?
That’s the work.
Not just changing food.
Understanding behavior.
...and yes, you really need to sit with yourself, in your dedicated journal, and answer each and every question if you want to make real change.
Don’t Wait for Another January
This is the trap.
People treat January like the only doorway to change.
It ain’t.
Monday is a doorway.
May is a doorway.
Right now is a doorway.
You don’t need a new year.
You need a new pattern.
Snack on THIS
January gave you intention.
May gives you information.
Use it.
Reflect.
Adjust.
Rebuild.
And keep going.
