You're Already Paying for Coaching
June 15, 2026
I hear it all the time.
"Dr. Denise, I'd love to join your program, but I can't afford it."
And honestly?
I understand.
Life is expensive.
But here's the question I always wonder:
What if you're already paying?
Just not to the right person.
Let's Do Some Quick Math
Imagine someone buys:
A $4 soda and chips from the gas station.
Three times a week.
That's $12 a week.
About $50 a month.
About $600 a year.
Now let's add:
Fast food twice a week.
Maybe another $20 each time.
That's another $160 a month.
Now we're over $2,500 a year.
And that's before we count:
DoorDash.
Coffee runs.
Candy at checkout.
The "I deserve it" snack.
The stress snack.
The boredom snack.
The holiday snack.
The breakup snack.
The Friday snack.
The Sunday reset snack.
You get the point.
The Food Industry Understands Psychology
Food companies don't simply sell food.
They sell:
Comfort.
Convenience.
Reward.
Relief.
Celebration.
Escape.
They know exactly what they're doing.
Bright colors.
Perfect crunch.
Perfect sweetness.
Limited-time flavors.
Family-sized bags.
Value meals.
Buy one, get one.
Everything is designed to keep the relationship going.
Because they don't need new customers, they want repeat customers. Repeat customers create repeat profits.
And Here's The Crazy Part
If the snacks worked...
you'd only need them once.
Think about that.
If the family-size bag solved loneliness...
you'd buy one bag.
If the cookies solved stress...
you'd buy one package.
If the ice cream fixed heartbreak...
you'd only need one pint.
But that's not what happens.
The same problem keeps showing up.
And the same foods keep getting hired to solve it.
The Real Cost Ain't The Money
The money hurts.
But the emotional toll hurts more.
THE EMOTIONAL TOLL
😴 Poor Sleep
🍭 Blood Sugar Rollercoasters
⚡ Energy Crashes
🧠 Brain Fog
🔥 Chronic Inflammation
⚖️ Weight Gain
😩 Frustration
💔 Loss of Confidence
❤️ Increased Health Risks
And perhaps the most expensive one of all...
Another year of promising yourself you're going to change.
What's The Real Cost?
Not (necessarily) dollars.
Life.
👗 Another closet full of clothes that don't fit the way you want.
💊 Medications for problems that may be lifestyle-related.
🏥 Doctor visits, copays, labs, and prescriptions.
🍽️ Ordering takeout because you're too exhausted to cook + DoorDash fees, delivery fees, service fees, and tips + Daily sodas, coffees, energy drinks, and convenience foods.
🗑️ Throwing away healthy groceries you intended to eat.
📦 Monthly snack subscriptions and impulse purchases.
📆 Another Monday saying: "This time I'm serious."
Emotional Eating vs. Coaching
EMOTIONAL EATING
❌ Temporary relief
❌ Same emotional trigger
❌ More cravings
❌ More frustration
❌ More weight gain
❌ Same cycle
COACHING
✅ Real understanding
✅ Emotional awareness
✅ Better habits
✅ Sustainable change
✅ Confidence
✅ Breaks the cycle
The Difference Between Relief and Resolution
A cookie can comfort you.
A soda can stimulate you.
A bag of chips can distract you.
For a moment.
But they cannot teach you:
How cravings work.
How habits form.
How emotions drive behavior.
How to stop starting over.
That's the difference.
One offers relief.
The other offers resolution.
The Real Question
What would happen if you invested even a fraction of what you've spent trying to feel better into understanding why you don't feel better? Because most people ain't struggling because they don't know what to eat. They're struggling because nobody taught them how to think differently about food.
Snack on THIS
If the snack worked...you wouldn't need another one.
